Week 3-Visiting the Museum of Power

Today my group and I visited the museum in Langford. There were many machines and tools on display, some of which I knew of previously and others I did not. There were several exhibits the group considered producing an animation of and eventually decided on one.

We selected the Horizontal Compound Steam Engine to model and animate later on in the semester. We believe this would be the most suitable as the size would enable each group member to have a sensible amount of work given the time span available. Also, the machines movement appeared to be more complex than many we looked at.

From the visit I can envisage how animation could aid the museum in educating visitors of all ages. I am much looking forward to starting this part of the module.
